Crop Buyer/Grain Trader/Purchasing Manager
Requirements: Prefer a degree and 6-10 years previous experience as a crop buyer/grain trader. Will be responsible for material resource planning, determining current and future demands for raw materials, developing/ updating supplier base/purchasing plans, locate new/existing sources of raw materials and meet with suppliers on a regular basis. Will also verify/qualify vendors and negotiate regional/global supplier contracts. Responsible for metrics/reports: scorecards and supplier database. Will be in-house expert on crop inputs supply and marketing of crop input products and services. Will also provide accurate, timely and valuable information on farmer attitudes, selling ideas and crop conditions for this North American supplier of organic products.
Location: Sonoma Valley, California
Salary Range: $85-$135k plus bonus and relocation expenses

 

Director Bean Trading/Sales
Requirements: Prefer a degree and 9-12 years bean buying and trading experience. Will negotiate and build relationships with organic edible bean buyers and suppliers worldwide. Will explore and develop markets for edible bean destinations. Manage and report risks associated with contracts including in-depth understanding of customers, market to market risk, due diligence surrounding contracts and monitor financial strength of customers. Will perform constant monitoring of supply and demand developments related to edible beans. Provide timely information on farmer attitudes, selling ideas and crop conditions. Will evaluate, identify and leverage new trading opportunities and develop key strategic alliances. Responsible for growing business in market share and volume and managing overall P&L position for this organic products supplier.
Location: California
Salary Range: $110K-$135K plus bonus

Executive VP
Requirements: Prefer 6-10 years previous food ingredient operations management experience, with interest in moving towards General Management. Will be trained in R&D, purchasing, IT, inventory control, sales/marketing and operations of a privately held Florida based, food ingredients processor. Will eventually take responsibility for day to day operations of facility, so senior partner may retire. Company has high profit margins and currently sells to nutritional and general food processing customers. Product line is diverse and includes powders and liquid hot fill/aseptic ingredients. 
Location: Florida
Salary Range: $95-$140K plus bonus.

 


PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT POSITIONS:

Research Chef
Requirements: Prefer a culinary arts degree and 4_6 previous research chef's experience with specialization in the baking or quick service restaurant product development area. Will work with customers, internal R&D and technical sales force on product development related to baked goods, confections and related QSR products. Some travel and customer contact. AIB training a plus. Reports to Culinary Manager of this high quality, global food ingredients processor. Position is available due to growth.
Location: New Jersey
Salary Range: $65-$82K plus bonus.

 

Food Technologist
Requirements: Prefer a technical degree and 3-10 years product savory development and ingredient applications experience. Will be trained to develop and match competitors condiments, BBQ sauces and salad dressings. May come from either a food or ingredient processor. Reports to VP Technical service of this mid-sized, privately held food processor. Position is available due to growth. Will train less experienced person or employ ten year veteran. Immediate need.
Location: Southeast, North Carolina
Salary Range: $55-$90K plus bonus

 

Director Product Formulations/Encapsulation
Requirements: Prefer an advanced degree with 12-15 yrs. experience in food ingredients encapsulation R&D and applications. Will develop formulations to meet customer needs, manage toll manufacturers and other external relationships to bring processing in-house at a later date. Product line includes encapsulated and micro-encapsulated fat soluble emulsions and suspensions from new novel processing technology that has just completed pilot studies and certifications.
Position reports to President of this mid-sized, well financed biotech firm.
Location: Northeast
Salary Range: $140-$195K plus equity

 

Pharaceutical Applications Coordinator
Requirements: Prefer a Ph.D. and 3-8 years product development and applications experience. Will be responsible for identifying, developing and implementing technical projects across all applications for a global supplier of food ingredients to the Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical markets. A successful candidate will be required to quickly become an expert in the pharmaceutical market and technologies associated with the assigned projects. Will be a primary trainer and facilitator for this area. Some customer contact and limited travel. Position has been created due to growth in this market sector.

Salary Range: $65-$79K

 

Director Business Development - Meat Ingredients
Requirements: Prefer a BS, MS or PhD. in Food Science, Food Chemistry with 10-15 yrs. previous R&D, Applications, Sales Development, Sales Support and Business Development in the cured meats industry. Will manage a line of natural preservatives sold to meat processors nationally. Will also perform R&D, new ingredient research & development, applications and technology assessment for product line extensions on any new meat ingredient products or acquirable technology. Reports to the owner if this mid-sized, highly profitable southeast ingredients processor. Position is available due to growth. 
Location: Southeast
Salary Range: $100-$140K plus bonus

 

Food Technologist-Food Confections
Requirements: Prefer a MS in Food Science or related, Ph.D. ideal and 1-7 yrs. previous new product development, exploration of new applications, project management and troubleshooting customer or internal technical problems in a food/confections processor. Should understand experimental design and statistical analysis tools and a wide variety of product and process technologies. Must understand market drivers and incorporate market drivers to create 'market pull' for new product initiatives. Knowledge of starch, hydrocollid and sweetener chemistry a plus. Reports to Senior Team Leader of this major, global food ingredients and fine chemical processor. 
Location: Chicago Area, Illinois
Salary Range: $70k-$95K

National Sales Manager
Requirements: Prefer a technical degree and 10-12 years food ingredients sales experience with emphasis on sales of functional nutritional ingredients to dietary supplement processors as well as other food ingredients suppliers. Will manager an internal sales force of three and call on A & B level accounts such as Pepsi and Cott. Will be responsible for developing/upgrading mechanics of sales force to take this small, high supplier to the next level of sale growth. Must live near a US airport for ease of travel but based out of a home office situation. Reports to CEO and owner. Position is available due to high growth in their market segment.
Location: East of the Mississippi
Salary Range: $95-$130K plus bonus.

 

Technical Sales Representative - Phytochemicals
Requirements: Prefer a technical degree and at least five years previous value-added food ingredients sales experience to the nutritional/functional foods marketplace. Will be responsible for sales of phytochemicals and extracts to US functional food processor accounts throughout the US, for this mid-sized global ingredients processor. Position has been created due to growth. Reports to US General Manager. Must be located near a US airport. Travel anticipated at 50%.
Location: any US metro area.
Salary Range: $70-$95K, plus bonus, home office, car and benefits.

 

Western Sales Representative
Requirements: Our client, a major global food ingredients supplier seeks a technical sales representative with at least 6-10 years food ingredients sales experience to quick service restaurant headquarters accounts in the Western US.

Will call on A and B  lever QSR processors such as Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and Starbucks in a territory from Dallas to Seattle to Los Angeles. Should be new project oriented vs: sales growth oriented. Position is available due to double digit growth in the suppliers sector. Reports to Director of QSR Sales.

Location: Dallas to Seattle to Los Angeles
Salary Range: $80-100K plus bonus to 25% of base, home office, car and expenses.

 

Southeast Sales Representative
Requirements: Our Client, a major global food ingredients supplier seeks a technical sales representative with at least 6-10 years food ingredients sales experience to quick service restaurant headquarters accounts in the Southeast US.

Will call on A and B level QSR processors such as Burger King and Chick-Filet in a territory from Atlanta to Miami to New Orleans. Should be new project oriented vs: sales growth oriented. Position is available due to double digit growth in this suppliers sector. Reports to Director of QSR Sales. 

Location: Atlanta to Miami to New Orleans
Salary Range: $80-100K plus bonus to 25% of base, home office, car and expenses.

 

VP Sales-Retail & Club Stores
Requirements: Prefer a degree and 10+ years previous processed food sales to retail and club channels. Will wear many hats in this mid-sized food processor. Will call on national accounts such as Wal-Mart and Target, while managing a direct sales force of three and a broker network. Must be able to perform sales management administrative duties in additional to limited national account calls. Reports to General Manager of this privately held 35 year old food processor.

Northeast Regional Sales Manager
Requirements: Prefer a technical degree and 5-10 years food ingredient sales to food, beverage and nutritional processors in the US. Will represent a line of food antioxidants including TPHQ, BHA and BHT for a Global processer increasing their presence in the US. National travel initially. Will be trained to advance to National Sales Manager as division grows. Reports to US joint venture President. Position available due to growth and expansion.

Salary Range: $75-$100K plus bonus and stock options

Requirements: Prefer a degree plus 10-15 years sales/marketing management experience in trading, bulk bin, and specialty organic foods/ingredients markets. Will direct company sales/marketing functions to identify and develop new customers for products and services. Develop strategies that identify market opportunities and new product development. Directly manage critical developing client accounts and coordinate management of all others. Establish and develop short and long range goals including five and ten business plans. Establish and execute a sales/marketing plan, coordinating with internal management, vendors, partners and distributors. This organic products supplier has current sales of $30M plus with expectations to grow exponentially over next 36 months.

Salary Range: $100K-$150K plus equity and bonus

 

Northeast Sales Representative - Ingredients
Requirements: Prefer a technical degree and 5-15 years previous food ingredients sales experience. Experience with key accounts such as Kroger and Campbell's Soup a plus. Broad based ingredients experience a plus.
Reports to Industry Manager of this major, international food ingredients processor. Can be located anywhere from Ohio, to Virginia to New York.
Location: Northeast
Salary Range: $75-$100K plus bonus

 

Country Manager
Requirements: Prefer a technical degree and 8+ years national account food ingredient sales experience in Canada. Will represent a line of starch, sweeteners and polyols to key accounts such as Cadbury, Wrigley's, Colgate and Proctor & Gamble. Will supervise brokers and direct sales personnel as required. Reports to Regional President based in the US. Ideal location is in Ontario but company is flexible. Open due to growth and promotion.

Salary Range: $120-$150K plus bonus

 

Midwest National Account Manager
Requirements: Prefer a technical degree and 10-15 yrs previous hydrocolloid or related food ingredient sales experience. Will call on major food and beverage processors in the Midwest representing a custom hydrocolloids line for a well known food ingredient supplier.
Client prefers an aggressive technical sales person, with R&D and purchasing contacts in the industry.

Salary Range: $90-$135K plus bonus

 

Northeast Sales Representative - Ingredients

Will travel six Midwest states calling on R&D departments of food and beverage processors, representing agglomeration and encapsulation production services. Reports to National Sales Manager of this well known ingredients and custom services processor.
Location: Any Midwest Metro
Salary Range:  $90K-$110K plus bonus.

 

Sales Manager - Private Label
Requirements: Prefer a degree and 6+ yrs. private label and chain store sales experience. Will manage sales brokers and distributors in sales of private label spice and seasoning blends, for a major international supplier. Will also have direct account experience as well. Prefer previous spice, seasoning or savory food ingredients experience but will consider others. Position is available due to business growth of this $20 million US supplier. Reports to VP Marketing. Good benefits, incentives and home office equipment included.

Will call on food, pet food, pharmaceutical and personal care processors at all account levels and sizes for this mid-sized ingredients distributor and custom blender. Previous ingredients distributor sales experience a plus. Candidate must be a 'prospector' that enjoys looking for new business. Reports to National Sales Manager.

Northeast Sales Representative
Requirements: Prefer a technical degree and 6-8 yrs. previous food ingredients sales experience in the Northeast U.S. Will represent various starch, sweetener and stabilizer lines as well as selling company's custom blending capabilities. Will call primarily on food and pharmaceutical processors. Need to be a 'prospector' that likes to pursue new business and not just manage current accounts. Excellent commission/bonus package. Salary Range: $60,000 TO $70,000 plus bonus/commission to 50% of base salary

 

Regional Sales Representative
Requirements: Prefer a technical degree and at least three years technical sales or technical service experience. Will sell confectionary ingredients to processors across the US for major, established supplier and product line. Will have a high level of technical support. Will also perform some sales calls in South America and Canada as needed. Travel requirements 50-60%. Reports to Director Business Development. Open due to growth in this major ingredients processor.

Salary Range: $58-$69K plus home office and benefits

 


SENSORY EVALUATION POSITIONS:

Sensory Manager
Requirements: Prefer a technical degree and at least 5 years sensory experience as well as past technical or quality leadership and management background. Will ensure that the sensory department creates and presents accurate, impacting and actionable data and reports to assist senior management in drawing conclusions and making recommendations. Must be proficient in using sensory tools and techniques, providing training, mentoring and enhancing cross functional capabilities between staff. Will develop sensory evaluation as a strategic partner through planning asset allocation and coordination with customers. Will also champion the use of experimental design with emphasis on matching proposed research for this mid-sized high quality dairy foods processor. reports to Technical Director.
Location: Midwest, Low cost of living
Salary Range: $85-115K plus relocation expenses to lower cost of living area.
